Do You Ever Find...

"Best laid plans of mice and men oft(en) go astray"? (Robert Burns')

I had so many grand plans on keeping this blog going, because we'll i'll be honest, I love it. I love being able to keep a memory of things that I am doing, as well as it keeps me motivated to do more. I feel like every couple of months I make all kinds of promises on writing every day or keeping a schedule or posting more often, but then...life. I'm sure many of you can relate.

So, I'm going to do something different this time. I'm not going to promise anything, I'm just going to do. I'm going to do what I can and not going to do what I can't.

That being said. I have some plans in the works. There are some things that I want to get done and I'm going to do my best to document them here. So, if you'd like to check back I would love for you to. If not, we'll I love blogging, so I'm going to continue doing it...for me. No promises though, because I have a lot of little faces at home that sometimes take my attention and that I love more!

Hope that everyone has a great day!!

Oh Today...

Oh today was spent doing more laundry and giving my little one some much needed mommy time.

You see, my oldest daughter had the flu on Saturdays, so this weekend was spent doing a lot of laundry and disinfecting...which I have done twice now. Once when my husband was sick and then this weekend. My son and I were sick last week, so here is hoping it has made it's rounds at our house and has moved on or even better died!

My two oldest went back to school today, so my youngest enjoyed some much needed and much enjoyed mommy time. We played, we ate, we relaxed, we laughed...we just enjoyed each other. It seems like since she turned 1 last Thursday she is doing something new EVERY day! She isgrowing up so fast. I can't believe it.

Anyway, hoping I will have some office and/or kitchen progress pics up for you tomorrow. But till then here are some pictures of the house before we moved in...

Say It Sunday

So, I said that I was going to post every day and I am going to post. But, I thought for Sunday's I'm just going to say it, say anything, just say what's on my mind or what I'm doing.

So, today I struggled. I'm a mom, to 3 children no less, so some days I struggle. I struggle to be pulled into that many directions at once, to constantly have someone need something...none of them being me...and well, to be needed that much. I know being needed that much is something that most moms live for. But me? Well, I struggle with it...not always, but sometimes. I am also a stay at home mom, so I work 24 hours a day 7 days a week, with usually no breaks. I have a 1 year old that doesn't really want anyone other than me, but also doesn't really want to do anything that I need her to do, like eat normal meals or take naps. I have a 5 year old that feels like she never gets enough attention, even if she has had attention all day. And I have a 7 year old who is easy to forget is there because he will go off by himself for hours, but needs attention too and sometime needs it forced on him (which he usually enjoys).

So, I struggle. I also struggle with the amount of love that I have for those children and never feeling like I am good enough for them. They are sweet, they are kind, they are loving, polite, and smart...am I good enough to deserve them? Sometimes I don't think so.

But, I will continue on. I will continue to love them every day. I will continue to try and be a better mom, a better wife, a better friend, daughter, sister, and person. I will strive to push down those feelings on anxiety and stress and wake up to another day, positive that it is going to be great.

Spotlight Saturday

Today I am starting a new regular post on Saturdays, called Spotlight Saturdays. I recently started selling Thirty-One Gifts and absolutely love the products and the company! They sell anything from purses to totes to organizational products and more. And since I love them so much I am going to "spotlight" a new product from the catalog every week.

The new Spring 2013 catalog just came out, but thankfully along with all of our great new products we still have some of our "ol' faithfuls". When I was first introduced to Thirty-One the first product that drew me in was the Skirt Purse. You see I LOVE purses, but HATE paying a ton for them. I could never have a Coach purse, or a LV purse. I get too bored too easily! And if you are the same then this is the purse for you. You see how it works is you pick a basic color, black, brown, or the NEW grey and then you pick a "skirt" to go with it, to dress it up, if you wish. The best thing about this is like a great basic top that you have found you can buy as many different skirts to go with it and it clips right on and you would never know that's not how it is made!

The best thing about this is that after your initial purchase of the purse (and 1 free skirt) all the rest of the skirts are ONLY $15!!!! That's like having a brand new purse for only $15. I absolutely love this product.

Anyway, I know I got a little excited about that, but I love this product. I don't know why I haven't seen it around sooner. Like I said for a girl like me who loves to change up her purse often, but can't afford to buy a new purse all the time...this is PERFECT!

If you love this purse and would like more information feel free to contact me via e-mail or click on my Thirty-One icon on the left hand side of the page and do some relaxing online shopping. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

** This post is not a sponsored post, it is my own thoughts and critiques of the items in the article. I may earn commission off of sales through my website from products sold.

Five Minute Friday

So, I decided to join up with one of my favorite bloggers, Lisa-Jo Baker, and participate in Five Minute Fridays. Every Friday she posts a word or subject and then for five minutes and five minutes only she writes on this topic.

This weeks word is Opportunity. So here I go...

Every New Years I think of all the opportunity that it brings. I'm not sure why I think that this time of year is my only chance at doing something new or different, but I've always thought that. New Years has always been my favorite holiday. I think that its a time to reboot. The whole year is ahead of you and you can accomplish anything. I shed the year before and only look forward. I am somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to what I expect of myself in life, so for me to be able to reboot...thats exactly what my "psyche" needs. I'm sure it sounds weird to a lot of people. This year I am more than ready to reboot. More than ready to begin anew. More than ready to start some things over or redo things. I turn 32 this year and feel like maybe I'm a little more grown up this year. Like maybe I have started to feel more comfortable in my skin, more okay with being me. More okay with making mistakes, because after all every year is an opportunity to begin again.

Stop

Well, it may have been a little rough, but it's true. I'm sure I'll get better at it as I go. Hope you all have a great weekend. Don't worry I will be back here tomorrow. With a feature.

What A Wonderful Year It Has Been

Today is a monumentous day for me. Today is my last babies 1st birthday. Today is the day we start the journey to toddlerhood, then childhood, then adulthood. I have cherished every day of this last year, a little more because it's my last baby. I have 3 beautiful, smart, adorable, polite children, but she is my last. Her personality shows more and more every day and her stubborness too. But, that's okay, because she is wonderful and I will continue to cherish every moment that I have to spend with her.

I love you more than you will ever know my sweet baby girl! Happy Birthday. I can't wait for all the wonderful memories we will make this year!

Home Office Organization

I'm sure as a lot of you probably know there are a lot of organizing challenges out there right now. I regularly follow A Bowl Full of Lemons Home Organizing 101 challenge (restarting on January 4th), but this year Toni is teaming up with a few other bloggers to do the New Years Organizing Revolution. It's nice, because it only lasts 4 weeks and you have a chance to earn some prizes! I'm not really interested in the prizes, I do it more for the motivation.

The first week began on December 31st and runs till Thursday (the 3rd). We are working on the Home Office or Desk Area in your home this week and it works out great for me, because I need to get everything in order so that I can work as efficiently as possible to get my Thirty-One business off the ground.

So, I've begun the Office makeover/clean-up/just get it together phase. Here are some BEFORE'S:

THIS IS WHERE PICTURES OF MY OFFICE SPACE SHOULD BE...IF I HAD NOT WOKE UP WITH WHAT I THINK MIGHT BE THE FLU AND CAN'T REALLY SIT TO UPLOAD THEM. SORRY, LOOK FOR THEM HOPEFULLY TOMORROW.

I will post some AFTER'S...after. I would love to know what everyone thinks. Any further suggestions? How do you keep your office organized, what's your best tip?

New Years Resolutions

I've been thinking long and hard about what my New Years resolutions should be. There are so many things that I want to change/do, but if there are too many then I am afraid that I will resolve to do nothing.

So, instead I will pick one in each category of my life. That is hopefully doable.

First, my family. I resolve to pay more quality time and attention to my husband and kids. A once a month date night, even if it's just sitting on the couch watching a movie after the kids go to bed, instead of watching our separate iPods/iPads/TVs. A day with each child each month for some one-on-one attention, that they deserve.

Second, our household. I resolve to organize the house and keep it clean. My kids won't know how to do either if I don't do it and I don't want them to have to learn that later on, it's a difficult task to learn. Plus, everyone is less stressed with a clean house where they can find exactly what they are looking for when they want it.

Third, my new business venture. I recently starting selling Thirty-One bags and am loving it. I love the products, they are quality and I truly believe that they can help people to be organized in a fashionable way without spending a lot of money. So, I am going to resolve to really make a go of it and not give up, but push harder when an obstacle arises. I know that it will make me feel more like I am contributing to our household income, get me out of the house and interacting with other adults, and give me something for myself.

Lastly, my spirituality. I have never been very forthcoming with my faith, but I do have it. I resolve this year to get more in touch with what I believe and what I want my children to believe. I want them to feel there is hope, and love, beyond just what you can see and touch. I want them to feel the faith in their hearts like I do and know that it's ok.

Last year was wonderful and I am so grateful! I know that this year will be exceptional too! Happy 2013!
